BBC News – Hazel Grove Roadworks

My work at Trafficlink takes me to some interesting places and tonight was no different.

Call comes in.
BBC, “Can you come to Oxford Road to do a piece to camera for NW news on the A6”.
Me, “When?”.
BBC, “erm, now?”

Off I trundle!

In the time to travel to the studio we manage to pull some interesting flow data on the roadworks, clearly showing that the worst traffic is around the school opening and closing times. The council are choosing the start the works after the schools have broken up for the summer. Makes sense.

So, if you are in the north west and want to see me talking roads, watch out for the regional opt outs in breakfast tomorrow from 06:25.
